LBP works in close partnership with the Longreach investment team to deliver high-impact value creation outcomes. We adopt a hands-on, on-site approach, working alongside portfolio companies' management teams to strengthen core capabilities and drive sustainable performance improvement.
We focus on control buyouts in Japan with a related focus on Greater China and broader Asia opportunities. We invest in the Industrial and Technology, Consumer Related and Business Services sectors.

Kenji Komatsu is a founding member of Longreach Business Partners. He served as Representative Director from its establishment in February 2023 and assumed the role of Chairman in March 2025.
He concurrently serves as President and CEO of FCL Components Limited, a portfolio company of The Longreach Group.
Prior to the establishment of LBP, Mr. Komatsu built extensive leadership experience as CEO across multiple industries, including manufacturing and business services. His previous roles include:

Akihiko Kanazawa is President & CEO of Longreach Business Partners.
He joined The Longreach Group in August 2022 during the preparation phase of LBP’s establishment. Following the launch of LBP in February 2023, he served as Managing Director before being appointed President & CEO in March 2025.
Prior to joining Longreach, he worked at AlixPartners and A.T. Kearney, where he was engaged in operational improvement across a wide range of industries including the turnaround of JAL and value creation initiatives for petrochemical and services industries.
He has also held a number of senior management roles across various corporates, including Tonen (now know as ENEOS), GE Capital, and Bellsystem24. His previous positions include:
Mr. Kanazawa holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Takuto Asano is a Senior Director based in Tokyo. He is involved in value creation initiatives across Longreach’s portfolio companies, including Asproad Holdings (ex-J-CEP) and Shin Nihon Jusetsu.
Prior to joining Longreach Business Partners, Mr. Asano was a member of the leadership team in the Transformation Practice at McKinsey & Company’s Japan office (Senior Vice President / Associate Partner), where he led the design and execution of enterprise-wide transformation programs.
He has extensive experience supporting large-scale corporate transformations, including serving as a management consultant in a multi-year transformation at a global manufacturing company, covering strategy, marketing, cash management, operational improvement, and cost optimization. He has also advised a number of companies on transformation program design, governance frameworks, and execution disciplines, including PDCA-based (plan-do-check-act) monitoring mechanisms.
Earlier in his career, he worked at Sojitz Corporation, where he was involved in portfolio management and financial oversight in the nuclear energy sector, as well as sales and marketing activities.
Mr. Asano holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Kotaro Yamada is a Director based in Tokyo. He is involved in value creation initiatives across Longreach’s portfolio companies, including Japan Systems, Blueship, and Lightworks.
Prior to joining Longreach Business Partners, Mr. Yamada worked at Frontier Management and other advisory firms, where he focused on hands-on management consulting, operational and organizational transformation, and system upgrade projects.
Earlier in his career, he held roles in sales and marketing at ADK and other companies.

Yuta Takano is a Director based in Tokyo. He is involved in value creation initiatives across Longreach’s portfolio companies, including Shin Nihon Jusetsu and BEAUTE DE LABO.
Prior to joining Longreach Business Partners, Mr. Takano was a Director / General Manager in the Global Strategy Group at KPMG FAS, where he led corporate strategy development and execution support, as well as contributed to the growth and management of the firm’s strategy practice.
He has extensive experience across a broad range of engagements, including corporate and business strategy, M&A and restructuring, as well as turnaround and change management. He has supported companies of varying sizes—from large corporates to mid-sized and venture-stage businesses—across multiple industries, including automotive, electronics, chemicals, consumer goods, IT, retail, services, and general trading companies.
Mr. Takano graduated from Waseda University.

Yuta Murata is a Senior Manager based in Tokyo. He is involved in value creation initiatives across Longreach’s portfolio companies, including FCL Components (ex-Fujitsu Component).
Prior to joining Longreach Business Partners, Mr. Murata was part of the value creation team at a private equity fund, where he worked as an on-site resource supporting operational improvement at a beverage manufacturer.
Earlier in his career, he focused on business turnaround and restructuring at a consulting firm, and was also involved in M&A-related engagements, including due diligence and post-merger integration.

Akiko Maeda is a Senior Manager based in Tokyo. She is involved in value creation initiatives across Longreach’s portfolio companies, including nobitel (Dr.stretch).
Prior to joining Longreach Business Partners, Ms. Maeda worked at PwC Advisory, where she supported post-acquisition transformation initiatives for private equity portfolio companies.
She has extensive experience in operational and profitability improvement, including inventory optimization, pricing strategy enhancement, budgeting, and strategic business planning. Prior to this, she served as Head of Corporate Planning and Supply Chain Management at Frontier Management’s execution support division and at a portfolio company of a private equity fund, where she led cross-functional transformation initiatives, including logistics optimization, procurement reform, cost reduction, and business process improvement.
Ms. Maeda graduated from the University of Tokyo (Faculty of Agriculture).

Hideyuki Yoshikawa is a Manager based in Tokyo. He is involved in value creation initiatives across Longreach’s portfolio companies, including Asproad Holdings (ex-J-CEP) and nobitel (Dr.stretch).
Prior to joining Longreach Business Partners, Mr. Yoshikawa was a Senior Manager at a US-based consulting firm, where he worked in both Tokyo and New York. He led a range of engagements, including strategy development, business process improvement, and cost optimization.
Mr. Yoshikawa holds a Master of Science from the Barcelona School of Management at Pompeu Fabra University.
