The Longreach Group seeks to obtain strong returns by integrating ESG risk mitigation and value creation throughout its investment process, from deal origination to the investment phase and through to exit.
At Longreach, we have adopted a proactive approach involving senior management to integrate ESG as a core component of our investment approach. We believe that a strong commitment to ESG is not only the right thing to do for our community but will also help our portfolio companies achieve excellence and better returns for our investors.
The Longreach team considers the material ESG factors in every investment, acknowledging that the relevance of such issues varies across different geographies and industry sectors. Longreach considers ESG issues in its investment approach based on global standards including the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) ESG Assessment Framework, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards.
In the investment phase, Longreach monitors and manages ESG Key Performance Indictors as part of its regular program.
Longreach conducts business in an ethical way in compliance with its Code of Ethics and Conduct. The Company is committed to complying with applicable laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which itself, its investee companies and their affiliates operate.
Longreach integrates ESG into its investment approach across the entire firm. The General Partners have overall responsibility for the ESG Policy and associated guidelines, including making decisions on reviews and revisions of appropriateness. Ownership of ESG integration into each investment rests with the investment team. Longreach’s leadership team is responsible for monitoring and ensuring implementation, while Investor Relations is responsible for ESG related disclosures and communications.
Longreach provides ESG training to each member of the Firm to ensure that every person has a full understanding of their ESG role and responsibilities.
Longreach reports directly to its Limited Partners on its progress on managing material ESG factors and publicly discloses information on its approach to integrating ESG into the investment process. Longreach’s Environmental, Social & Governance Policy & Guideline is available here.
Longreach became a signatory to UNPRI in May 2020 and will begin publicly reporting to the UNPRI on its activities in January 2022.
