In June 2018, The Longreach Group (“Longreach”) closed the transaction with global mobile game publisher Aeria Inc. (“Aeria”) to sell all of the shares in Cybird Co., Ltd. (“Cybird”). Cybird was originally acquired by The Longreach Group in December 2007 through MBO, which was the first buy-out transaction that adopted a process involving independent expert evaluations in Japan.

Cybird, founded in September 1998, is a pioneer mobile content provider who in recent years has successfully expanded into developing and delivering popular mobile content, mainly for the game market targeting the female user base represented by major titles such as the “Ikemen series”, as well as content licensing using famous celebrities and animation characters.

With the recent growth of female online audiences both domestically and overseas, Cybird has grown and strengthened its business by delivering popular mobile games and licensed content targeting female users as well as expanding the business domestically and abroad, through its partnership with The Longreach Group.

Aeria is a JASDAQ-listed global mobile game publishing and IT services company, primarily focused on publishing global online games led by female-popular titles. By becoming an Aeria Group company, Cybird expects to continue its growth trajectory through collaborative promotions, sharing development resources and overseas business know-how, to further expand its business platform and earnings base.

Through the years as its strategic partner, The Longreach Group supporting Cybird in implementing a mid-to-long term strategy that led to expanding its business in new areas and fortifying its financial base in a fast-changing mobile content market environment, and providing a platform for future growth through an exit to a strategic buyer who has strong complementary synergies with the company.
